We need your support
The nitty gritty.
CAPCA have already granted the Wilburton Community Shop project an initial £7,500. This money has been put to good use and has so far enabled us to draft a Lease Agreement with the new owners of the Wilburton Flame, to engage professionals to write and submit a formal planning application to the District Council and to engage a Plunkett UK mentor to help us navigate the pitfalls of seeing a scheme such as this to its conclusion and ultimate delivery.
We will release the full Share Offer Scheme once we are up and running, but in the meantime we are urgently asking for money to be given to the Community Shop in order to release the large CAPCA grant. You can give money by a simple donation or (and this is our preference) by completing the Share Offer Application form and pledging your money as a shareholder. Being a group of shareholders demonstrates to the funders that we are operating with the backing and involvement of the Village Community.
As a shareholder you will be able, should you wish, to attend committee meetings, present and vote on ideas and ways for the shop to operate and to join the management committee.
If you do not wish to donate via the Share Option route, then please make a simple donation into our account - this can be made through our GoFundMe page, by BACS or even by cash.
Any money given to the Community Hub will be more than just an expression of goodwill. All funds received will be used to keep the shop operating and with a considerable amount of cost initially being used to train our staff and volunteers as well as filling the shelves with stock, all ready for the first day of opening (both of which, the CAPCA grant expressly does not cover).
With this in mind, we are asking everyone, be they individuals or commercial enterprises, be they based in Wilburton or further afield, to donate to the Community Shop fund. We are asking for a minimum of £10 and a maximum of £10,000.
